Recipe Canned aperitif mussels

I hear you're looking for an original homemade aperitif idea? You don't have to scratch your head, just scratch some mussels. Here's our delicious recipe for mussels in white wine in a jar!

Number of persons: 4-6 servings
  • 4 litres of mussels
  • 25 cl of white wine
  • 150 g of butter
  • 2 shallots
  • Persil
  • 2 onions
  • Herbs (thyme, bay leaf, parsley)
  • Salt, pepper

  • To prepare the mussels successfully, scrape and wash them carefully, then start cooking the mussels in white wine in a large casserole dish with the wine, herbs, chopped shallots, chopped onions, salt and pepper for 10 minutes. Stir 2 or 3 times during cooking.
  • Remove the mussels: they should be completely open. Drain them and remove the flesh from the shells. Discard the shells.
  • Place the flesh in the jar, adding 150 g of butter to within 2 cm of the rim. If necessary, add the pre-filtered cooking juices to reach the filling level.
  • To keep the mussels in perfect condition, close and heat immediately for 1h30 at 100°C.
