Recipe Cherries in brandy

As the old-timers used to say, "macerating in brandy lasts a lifetime". Preserving cherries in alcohol ensures that the product will last for several years. But we bet you'll finish the jar long before that!

Ingredients

Number of persons: Several
  • 1 kg cherries
  • 300 g sugar
  • 1 litre fruit brandy

We recommend: Jar Le Parfait Super > Jar - 0,25 l (Diameter : 70)

Preparation

  • Pick the cherries with their stalks, then wash them in cold water and dry them in a cloth.
  • Cut the stems off the cherries to about 1-2 cm then arrange them in the jars without packing them.
  • Cover with litres of brandy, add the sugar, close and keep in a dark place for 6 months.
  • Open the jars, taste and add sugar if necessary. Replenish the brandy. Wait another 6 months.
  • Preserving with alcohol ensures that the product will keep for several years.

Cherries in brandy can be kept for years.
