"Vieux garçon" jam by Romain Meder

Ingredients list

2 kg overripe strawberries (or other overripe fruit)

1.5 kg of sugar

1.5 litres of alcohol (e.g. kirsch)

Preparation

  1. Mix the sugar and alcohol in a jar. Add the fruit, chosen according to the season.
  2. Close the jar tightly and turn it over from time to time. Store it in a cool, dry place.

This "jam" is best consumed after one year of maturation.
