Tomato and basil sauce Recipe

Tomato and basil sauce

Ingredients list

  • 2.5 kg of ripe tomatoes
  • 2 onions chopped
  • 2-3 garlic cloves
  • Aromatic herbs
  • Basil leaves
  • 1 teaspoon of sugar
  • Spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves)
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • Salt and Pepper to season

  1. Wash, de-seed and peel the tomatoes. Cut into chunks.
  2. Brown the red or white chopped onions in a drop of olive oil in a frying pan, add the crushed garlic, tomatoes, herbs, basil leaves, spices, sugar. Season with salt and pepper. Simmer gently for about 30 minutes.
  3. Mix in a blender
  4. Begin filling your Le Parfait Super Jars with the tomato and basil sauce, leaving a gap of 2 cm from the brim. Seal tightly and proceed immediately to the heat treatment for 45 minutes at 100°C.
