  • 1.2 kg stoned cherries 
  • 1-2 sprigs of mint or 5-6 mint tea bags
  • 1 kg jam sugar

  1. Cook the cherries and mint leaves or mint tea bags with 1 or 2 glasses of water for about 30 minutes, until the cherries are tender.
  2. Add the sugar, stir well and bring to a rolling boil for 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from the heat. 
  3. Check the set by pouring a few drops onto a cold plate and tilting the plate. The jam should flow slowly.
  4. Immediately pour jam into Le Parfait Jam Jars, including a mint leaf in each jar.
  5. Seal tightly and turn the jars upside down.

« 1kg of sugar is waaay to much. I used 2 and 1/2 cups and it turned out good.

Mint tea bags!? Get some fresh, mint from your garden.

I slow cooked the jam in my crockpot to get a jam like consistency because there is no pectin used in this recipe. I am really glad I found this recipe. I like it a lot. I think that cherry mint jam should be made more often. »
